HAYATI ESSENCE FRAGRANCE GUIDE

How to Choose a Perfume Oil: Scent Notes, Sizes and Everyday Use

A practical guide to choosing perfume oil, understanding fragrance notes and choosing a bottle size.

Amani Si Premium Grade perfume oil bottle from Hayati Essence

Choosing a perfume oil starts with knowing which scents you enjoy, not just recognising a product name. At Hayati Essence, our collection includes oud, musk, amber, fresh, floral and fruity fragrance profiles. These practical steps can help you compare the options.

Start with a fragrance family

Fresh scents may feature citrus or airy notes. Fruity styles might mention peach, berries or melon. Floral fragrances can include rose, jasmine or orange blossom. Woody or oud-inspired scents often have a deeper character, while musk and amber styles may feel softer or warmer. The finished scent depends on the whole composition, not one note.

Understand top, heart and base notes

Some fragrance descriptions list top notes, heart notes and base notes. Top notes describe the opening impression, heart notes the central character, and base notes the later impression. Not all fragrances follow the same progression. Use these descriptions to narrow down your options, then compare individual products.

Choose the right size

A smaller bottle can be a sensible choice if you are exploring a new scent. A larger bottle may suit a fragrance you already know well. Sizes vary by product: Hayati Essence carries selected perfume oils in volumes including 3ml, 6ml, 12ml, 24ml, 50ml and 100ml. Not every fragrance is available in every size, so check the product page and chosen variant.

Using perfume oils

Read the product label and use the oil as directed. Start with a small amount. Avoid contact with eyes and broken or irritated skin, and consider a patch test if you have sensitive skin. Individual preferences and skin chemistry affect how a fragrance smells and feels, so there is no one scent that works for everyone.

What does “inspired by” mean?

Independent fragrance products sometimes reference well-known scent styles so shoppers can understand their character. That comparison does not mean the product is made by, affiliated with or endorsed by the fragrance house being referenced. Check the seller and brand shown on the product page. Hayati Essence perfume oils are sold under our own brand.
